The Black Toes Running Club promotes physical fitness and develops masters runners for national and international competition.  

 

The Club seeks to improve training methods for runners over the age of 34 through a science-based approach and to expand opportunities for these athletes to compete.

To affirm this mission, the Club selects one marathon each year and encourages as many Black Toes as possible to compete. Like bikers descending on Sturgis, the Black Toes gather for the annual race, compete and then drink beer, but do so without the knife fights.
